3. Leachate treatment facility
The leachate treatment facility includes:
treatment plant using reverse osmosis
system for collection and drainage of stormwater, leachate, and landfill gas
basins for collecting stormwater and lagoons for collecting leachate
Leachate is collected from all areas of the complex and directed toward basins with waterproof lining. The basins are dimensioned for continuous rainfall of 20 days for a return period of 25 years.
The facility is dimensioned for 90,000 m³/year, and the treatment process includes: pretreatment, acidification, reverse osmosis, concentrate evaporation, and final reverse osmosis.
Thanks to this facility, leachate no longer pollutes the Ošljan stream, Ošljan marsh, surrounding soil, and the Danube River.
